i thought i would add a new and improved logo.
i hope you all like it, it took approximately 6 hours to complete.
I think this camera idea is viable as perfection because a logo should represent the "theme" or value of the "company/thing" it is advertising.
and i say this as fact because of many hard years slogging away becoming a junior graphic designer.
so i honestly believe a camera for a photography exhibition as a logo is like
a barramundi for a fish mongers logo
a pencil and a ruler or notebooks for a stationary store logo.
the background will be white. feel free to make suggestions for adjustments.
thankyou.

ReplyDeleteellia its double amazaing, just love the camera and it defo sells what the image is about.not sure about the red though, i dunno ... keep playing
ReplyDeletelove nadz
Pretty damn Snazzy!
ReplyDeleteBut you should have used a nikon camera!
I also agree that this is a good idea. I like that it's simplistic and easy to execute and replicate.
ReplyDeleteI think Elleia has done very well.
I like the idea of the background being eliminated completely and the camera itself being the focal point (but I know Elleia has already mentioned that she is aiming for something different with the background).
Whatever we choose for the logo I think it should be straight up and simple like this.
I like the idea of a polaroid picture and toy cameras as logos. Nice and easy to do.
Cheers
Nice one!
ReplyDeleteBen
I really Like this. It's simple.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the Background would look better white though.
Nice job.

yo sweet effort bru its nice that you put some time into this :) id use this as a logo if everyone can agree on it. cheers mate
ReplyDeleteGraham
I think Elleia has done such an amazing job
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree
That because it's a logo something like this would be very good to use
It would look nice on Tshirts
And everyone who would look at the logo would understand what it is
Mazzzz
xo
I like it too.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Job Elleia.
I think the concept of the camera is OK but Im still leaning towards the eye pictures that have been posted on here. You mentioned that it was "the concept" & not necessarily a photograph that was needed as a logo... to me the camera is still just a photo of a camera , with no more representation of "secrets" than an eye or some lips. I feel the camera is quite bulky and am concerned in print ie: on t-shirts or posters, the actual image would be lost & difficult to decipher. Well done for all the hard work you have put into it but like I said, my vote has to stick with the eyes or the door, I guess it will come down to a class vote. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteMadi :o
just so's ya know madi, the camera is to represent what the actual event is, a "photographic exhibition" the work itself needs to represent the theme, not the logo :D
ReplyDeletethanks for all the input guys.
Elleia
very nice idea :)
ReplyDeletekeep up the work

Elleia,
ReplyDeleteI understand what you are trying to represent all Im saying is I feel it is too ....."blocky", and is a bit crowded & common looking. Was just hoping for something a little more classy!! Im just saying my preference is to the lips or eye. But great work.
Madi :o
i like the idea of the camera and want to thanks Elleia so much for putting in sooo much effort... i just feel that it lacks artistic feel that the eye pics have
ReplyDeletesoph.
I think i like this more than the eye Logo..i feel the eye could be submitted as a piece of work..this is more a 'logo'
ReplyDeleteThis gets my vote, goodwork
Henry
I think this is by far the best logo idea i have seen. Simple- fits topic perfectly. The other logos of eye and lip don’t clearly indicate that it is a photographic exhibition. And as i have mentioned could easily be for a lingerie shop or strip club.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Elleia

I think your logo is fantastic Elleia, especially when it was viewed as a sketch...hubba hubba.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great graphic designer, and I can totally see that 6 hrs of hardwork really paid off for you :-)
Keep up the good work Little L.

DARKROOM RAIDERS
Common, generic, boring, banal, unimaginative, drab, humdrum, insipid. As an outsider looking in I thought you could have all come up with something a little more "original". Hope your exhibition isn't going to be this dull !!! A little constructive criticism and honesty can go a long way in developing your skills. Maybe you should all try it.
ReplyDeleteYawn
I agree with the last one. I think it is as boring as taking a camera and photoshopping a red door into its lens… seriously guys? Budding photographers should be a little more creative than this. Take a photo of something that resembles ‘secrets’ and put a heading on it – dead simple and it doesn’t take 8 – 9 weeks to do.I agree with the last one. ReplyDeleteIm not going to apologize for saying that your stated number of years of experience does not reflect the quality of work this group has produced. Im with the last 2 comments. Double yawn
ReplyDeleteI think this logo is great Simply fits with theme perfectly and I'm glad we ended up picking this at the end.
